President's Message

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season and is feeling refreshed heading into 2026.

Our board held our annual planning meeting in December, and I’m really excited about what we have ahead this year. I’m especially thankful for our board, which is an engaged and hard-working group that genuinely cares about our members, our profession, and our community. We are also grateful for the continued support of our partners and the strong engagement from our members, which allows us to deliver meaningful value as a chapter.

We have a wonderful lineup of meetings and events planned, including partner events and NexGen opportunities, and we are already making plans for our annual symposium next fall. More details will be coming soon, so please keep an eye out.

Our first chapter meeting of the year will be held at the Federal Reserve on Thursday, January 15th, and I look forward to seeing many of you there and at future meetings throughout the year.

Thank you for being such a supportive and engaged community. Here’s to a great year ahead!

All the best,

Isabella Blount, CPA , CFP®

January Chapter Meeting: Wealth Planning trends 2026: Comfort, catch-ups, and coin flips

This presentation highlights key wealth planning trends for financial advisors. It provides actionable insights to support meaningful client engagement throughout the year. The content addresses strategies for managing retirement income concerns. It also explores navigating market volatility and leveraging upcoming tax law changes.

Learning Objectives

The presentation is designed to help participants begin to:

  1. Learn Year-Round Conversation Starters: Use trends like cash holdings and tax law changes (e.g., Roth catch-up rules, QSBS opportunities) as timely reasons to reach out and keep clients engaged across different life stages and market conditions.
  2. Spark Deeper Planning Dialogues: Frame discussions around emotional drivers such as peace of mind and income stability to better show how retirement income plans translate into monthly spending and reinforce confidence.
  3. Leverage Behavioral Insights: Incorporate findings from the 2025 Janus Henderson Investor Survey and behavioral finance frameworks to guide conversations about market downturns, cash allocations, and diversification.
