President's Message
Hello everyone, Welcome to August!
I hope you've all had a wonderful summer and are settling back into your routines as a new season begins. The second half of the year is shaping up to be an exciting one for FPA of North Alabama, and I'm grateful to our board for all the work they've put into making this year a success.
Our Annual Symposium is just around the corner on September 17th, and we look forward to another great day of learning, networking, and connecting with fellow professionals. Marly Green, our Symposium Director, has done an excellent job of planning a wonderful event for our members. If you haven't already, be sure to register early and encourage your colleagues to join us.
Thank you for being a part of our chapter, and I look forward to seeing many of you at our August meeting!

Chapter Meeting
August 20 Chapter Meeting: Modern Long-Term Care Insurance Solutions
As the long-term care insurance market has evolved, hybrid life insurance and annuity products have become increasingly popular alternatives to traditional stand-alone policies. This presentation explores why these solutions have gained traction, the long-term care risks clients face, and the financial impact of needing extended care. Attendees will review key statistics on long-term care costs, utilization, and duration to better understand the need for planning. The session will also provide practical guidance on selecting the most appropriate hybrid solution for clients and navigating underwriting considerations.
By Attending This Session, Participants Will Be Able To:
- Explain the advantages and trade-offs of hybrid long-term care insurance products compared to traditional stand-alone long-term care insurance.
- Evaluate long-term care risk using key statistics, including the likelihood of needing care, expected costs, and average duration of care, to inform client recommendations.
- Identify appropriate hybrid long-term care solutions based on client needs and understand the underwriting factors that influence eligibility.
