Ten Roth Strategies Presentation
Many thanks again to Jon Splaine and Bill Cass for their support of our chapter presentation on March 18, entitled “Ten Roth Strategies to Hedge the Risk of Higher Taxes.” Here is a link to a resource that was referenced in the presentation. Jon Splaine is our local representative with Putnam Investments; he can be reached at (Email) [email protected] and (Mobile) 205-353-1297.
On February 1, Ross Kennedy and Marla McCully hosted a NexGen virtual event in which they discussed the financial planning profession, tips on internships and how to get involved more actively within our chapter. The subsequent feedback from the nearly 20 participants was quite positive.
The board is especially grateful for the generous support of our 28 external partners and 13 internal partners this year. This support amounts to a 46% increase in the number of chapter partnerships we enjoyed in 2020. Mac Frasier, David LeCompte and Pat Morris have done a tremendous job in support of our partnership initiatives (which date back to September of last year).
We will be excellent stewards of the trust and enthusiasm that have been invested in our chapter, too. In addition to the quality of our monthly chapter meetings, ancillary programs and the symposium event in September, I believe you will see enhanced connectivity, innovation and value in our chapter deliverables throughout the year.
As a chapter, there’s no better way to connect with each other than in forums that are relevant. That’s why I would like to hear from you. What are your thoughts on how FPA of North Alabama can connect with planners in your community? What kinds of activities, presentations, and services could our chapter offer that would add value to your career?
I look forward to hearing from—and seeing you—soon.
All the best,
Welcome to Our New Members!
Celebrating 10 Years of Membership!
In March we had two new members join our chapter. Welcome to Katherine Chatmon and Shannon Works.
We are working on finalizing the date for our Barons Member Appreciate Event. Be on the lookout for details in the coming weeks about our plans for our annual membership event which will take place later this summer. We are also working on a virtual social for our membership. Additional details are to follow but we are planning for late April or early May.
As a reminder, don’t forget about the Member-Get-A-Member Referral Program. Anytime you refer a new member to join FPA you and your referral will receive one-time savings. There are no limits on how many planners you can refer and no limits on how much you can save. More information about the referral program can be found here.
FPA offers so many great membership benefits like Continuing Education, Discount Opportunities, Research, and Networking. If you ever have any questions about your membership please check out the FPA Member Benefits Page here or contact FPANA Membership Director, Rebecca Yerby at [email protected].
We are excited to announce a new event that our chapter will be putting on this summer:
Christine Benz, director of personal finance for Morningstar, will be presenting a joint Webinar on the topic of retirement income on June 25. FPA chapters from Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Mississippi and Florida will be joining our chapter for this spectacular event. This is an exciting opportunity for our members, and we are very proud for our chapter to be leading the charge in putting this together. Please stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
