President's Message

Finally, spring is here! I hope you’re all as ready for the warmer weather as I am. (And for tax season to be over!)

I’d like to highlight the great work some of our board members are doing. First of all, I’d like to thank our Public Relations director, Mary Meadows Livingston for all her hard work in getting our chapter’s social media up and running. If you haven’t followed us on LinkedIn or Instagram, grab your phone and check us out! You’ll find the latest news about what’s happening in our chapter.

I’d also like to highlight the fantastic job our Programs and Symposium director Jesse Zora and Scott Ward. They have been working together to plan out a fantastic lineup of speakers for both our chapter meeting and our annual symposium. We have got some great speakers lined up for you this year with topics I hope you will all find both interesting and useful in your practices.

If you see these board members around, be sure to say thank you!

Best wishes,

FPA NexGen is evolving and is no longer defined by age. The new strategic directive of NexGen is “To educate, promote, and integrate the next generation of CFP® professionals” and the new membership focus it to “serve aspiring and early career CFP® professionals.” This includes aspiring individuals (four years prior to entry into the profession) and early career stage professionals (eight years after entry into the profession). NexGen is no longer something that someone ages out of, but a new understanding of the community for the early career years of an individual in financial planning.

For more information please see the following Journal of Financial Planning article from December 2018:

Contact Daniel Logan if you have any questions! Let your coworkers know about the new plans for the NexGen community and get them plugged in.
