President's Message

It’s hard to believe that 2020 is nearing a close and this will be our last newsletter of the year!  Although, most of us may be ready to see 2020 in the rearview mirror.

I want to take an opportunity to thank each of you for your support of our chapter over this year.  We have tried to make things as “normal” as possible by holding our monthly meetings and hosting a terrific symposium.  While we are disappointed that we were unable to meet in person for most of the year and unable to host our Partner/Member event; we hope that we can get back together soon!

We will have our last meeting of the year in November and it will be a virtual format; PIMCO will host 2020 Year End Planning Strategies.  You can register on our website.

I would like to thank again all our wonderful partners for 2020, and we hope to see all of them join us again in 2021.

The Slate of Directors for 2021 was announced at our last meeting and we will be voting on that slate at our November meeting.

I want to personally thank each Director on the 2020 Board for your help, kindness, and support throughout this year.  No one has a monopoly on good ideas, and it truly took a team to get thru this year with success.  I hate to see our Board Chair, Callie Jowers, roll off the board……..but I want to personally thank her for her numerous years of service to our organization!

I hope to see you all on our virtual Chapter Meeting and as always, stay safe!

Jim

Outreach

The Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) has been proud to collaborate with AARP on the Retirement Resilience Program, which brings virtual financial education, personalized guidance and one-on-one consultations to financially vulnerable seniors.

FFP is currently seeking volunteers for the fourth installment of this webinar series. Seniors will be able to submit questions on Social Security and other financial issues, and/or sign up for a ten-minute phone consultation with one of our volunteer Certified Financial Planner™ professionals. This volunteer commitment will require approximately two hours of virtual engagement in the weeks following the main event, October 28th to November 17th.

Are you a CFP® professional interested in learning more about this opportunity to help seniors in need?
