Presented by: Howard Tiffen - Vice President | Client Portfolio Manager, Leveraged Finance Investment Team
Meeting Sponsored by: First Trust
* Please note this is on the second, not third, Thursday

We are very pleased to announce that First Trust will be the guest presenter at our next chapter meeting on November 14th. The discussion as to interest rates and credit risk surely ensues uncertainty when it comes to fixed income.  Howard will discuss current market events and debunk many of the myths that exist in the prevailing “narrative”.  Additionally, he will focus heavily on the real implications for fixed-income markets with an in-depth look at the risks and potential opportunities.

Howard is a Client Portfolio Manager for the First Trust Advisors Leveraged Finance Investment Team. Howard has been involved in the floating-rate capital markets in Europe, Asia and North America for over 40 years. He participates in the Team’s credit processes in an advisory capacity and supports the presentation responsibilities of the Portfolio Management Team.

Prior to joining First Trust, Howard held an advisory and marketing role within the Eaton Vance Bank Loan Team and previously had portfolio management responsibilities for bank loan funds at Continental Bank, Bank of America, Pilgrim Investments, Van Kampen and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
Howard holds a BS from Northwestern University and an AM from University of Chicago.

FPA Guest Policy
Effective 1-1-2014

In an effort to boost membership, we have removed the financial incentive to be a continual guest at chapter meetings. All first-time guests may attend chapter meetings at no charge. A guest’s second and all further meetings require a $50 charge. As an incentive to join, members receive great discounts for chapter meetings, our membership outing, and the Symposium, plus access to free CE in the Journal of Financial Planning. Between the networking, the continuing education, and the advocacy of our profession, we believe that the cost of membership is far exceeded by the value.
