President's Message

It’s September, and a very busy time as school is back in, kids activities are in full force (if they ever actually took a break), and football season is upon us. It’s a busy time with the FPA as well. On Thursday, September 20th, we will have our annual Symposium at the Grand Bohemian. The schedule will begin with ethics and conclude with a happy hour at the end of the day. We are excited to have a great line up of informative speakers and plenty of CE. Make sure to get registered! Also, please make a note that the Financial Planning Expo will be held on October 2nd, once again at the Hoover Library. More information will come, but make a note of the date, as volunteers are needed.

I would also like to recognize and thank Beth Vittitow this month. For the past two years, Beth has not only been a valuable member of our Board, but has been in charge of our Symposium, no easy task. Thanks, Beth, for planning out a couple of great Symposiums!

See you all soon.

In an effort to boost membership, we have removed the financial incentive to be a continual guest at chapter meetings. First time guests may attend a chapter meeting at no charge. A guest’s second and all further meetings require a $50 charge. As an incentive to join, members receive great discounts for chapter meetings, social events, Symposium, plus access to free CE in the Journal of Financial Planning. Between the networking, continuing education and advocacy of our
profession, we believe that the cost of membership is far exceeded by the value. Guest policy adopted by the 2016 FPANA Board of Directors.
